In 2019, the Energy Efficiency Award achieved record participation: By the deadline for applications on 15 July 2019, dena had 142 formally admissible applications. 108 applications came from the Federal Republic of Germany and 34 from abroad.
The number of competition entries was thus once again considerably higher than in previous years. This underlines the relevance of the topic of energy efficiency in companies.
In 2018, more than 100 energy efficiency projects applied for the Energy Efficiency Award. Of these, 72 were from Germany and another 32 from Europe and abroad. The award strengthens public awareness of how companies can make a significant
contribution to achieving German and international climate protection goals - and how this contribution can serve as a model far beyond the region itself.
In 2017, a total of 116 energy efficiency projects from Germany and abroad applied for the award. At the dena Congress in Berlin, not only was the 40th award presented to a company, but also, for the first time, companies were able to present concepts for
the newly launched audience prize of the Energy Efficiency Award. After a pitch of the individual concepts, the attending audience of professionals voted live for the respective favourite during the award ceremony.
